This course covers the Network Protocols and Standards used by various entities in an end-to-end Internet connection. Specifically, Bridging and Routing Protocols are taught. The course will also cover some of the emerging network protocols such as MPLS and GMPLS that have gained significant popularity among the network service providers.
The primary focus in this course is on protocols and practice rather than principles. However, we will still cover some principles. After taking this course, you will be able to understand the relation and working of various protocols that come into play to support communication between two entities over the Internet.
Students are expected to attend all the lectures.
