The Assistive Technology Resource and Research Center (ATRRC) is dedicated to promoting the inclusion of persons with  disabilities (PWDs) into mainstream society. It serves as a focal point for coordinating, conducting, and disseminating services related to PWDs including assistive technology training/education and research. Presently, its focus is restricted to vision and mobility impairment.

The mission of ATTRC is:

  • To facilitate students, staff, and faculty who have disabilities by coordinating and providing support services that enable reasonable access to an education, employment, and university life.
  • To promote and develop technologies that enable independent living of PWDs.
  • To be a resource and training center for other institutions/organizations and individuals.

What's New?

·        Workshop on Inclusive Primary Education will be held at LUMS on October 2, 2010. This one-day workshop will cover the principles and practices of inclusive education and is ideal for mainstream school teachers, future teachers (students), and school administrators. The registration deadline 24 September.

LUMS Education

If you want a LUMS education, please apply directly to the various programs at LUMS. In particular:

·        If you are a first year student, please apply to the National Outreach Program (NOP).

·        If you are a second year FSc or A' level student, apply directly to the relevant program. Click on the appropriate admissions link on  LUMS website.

Please do mention your particular disability in your application form. Also, do let us know (hassant@lums.edu.pk) so that we can coordinate any facilitation that you may need.

We are organizing a Workshop on Inclusive Primary Education. This workshop is targeted towards mainstream school teachers, administrators, and students. The registration deadline is Sep. 24.

1 - 4 March, 2010

We are organizing a "Web Accessibility Workshop" at LUMS. This 4 day event will provide the theory and practice of accessible Web content design and development, relying on the W3C WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). For details, including registration information, click here.
